Administrative Team

Approximately 1,300 Education Centre and school-based staff support Prairie Valley schools and deliver diverse programming to meet student needs. This includes 129 staff in the Education Centre, over 550 teachers and other staff including educational assistants, principals, bus drivers, caretakers and administrative assistants.

Director of Education Gord Husband, reports to the Board and is responsible for the administration of Prairie Valley School Division. The Director is supported by the Senior Administrative Team.

	Director of Education/CEO - Gord Husband Gord provides leadership and direction in Prairie Valley School Division. He supports employees in achieving the Division's priorities laid out in the Board's strategic plan. His vision is to see that every student has a meaningful school experience and is provided the opportunity to succeed and ultimately achieve the aspirations they hold. Gord oversees the business operations of the School Division in accordance with legislation, regulations, Board policies, and Ministry of Education requirements. He is accountable to the Board and is supported by the Deputy Director, Operations/CFO, Deputy Director, Learning, and other senior leaders representing portfolios in Learning, Division Services and Human Resources.
	Deputy Director, Operations/Chief Financial Officer - Brent Nadon Brent is responsible for non-instructional services including finance, facilities, transportation, information technology, and communications. In addition, human resources is a shared responsibility with the Deputy Director, Learning. Brent also acts as Secretary to the Board. Partnered with the Director of Education and the Deputy Director, Learning, they lead Prairie Valley School Division's future growth and strategic responses in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
	Deputy Director, Learning - Mike Embury Mike is responsible for strategic and operational support, leading the Division's Learning Superintendents, Coordinators, Consultants, and professional support team members. He works closely with the Director of Education and Deputy Director, Operations to provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization in order to continue building opportunities and success for all students. He is also responsible for: Governance Support; Communications; Strategic Plan Implementation; Reorganization Actualization; School Improvement Planning; Human Resource Planning; Employee Group Relations; Provincial Education Plan Support; Strategic Partnerships; First Nation Engagement and Service Agreements; Home-based Education Oversight.

Learning

Learning Superintendents provide instructional and operational leadership and management oversight to the 39 schools in Prairie Valley. Key responsibilities include supervising school operations, analyzing and responding to school and system student performance data, and overseeing school-based staff recruitment, management and development.

	Learning Superintendent - Lisa Allen Lisa is responsible for School Staffing; Learning Improvement Planning; Student Attendance; Student Advisories; Curriculum Indigenization; Graduation Outcomes; Student Senates; Bursaries; Scholarships and Fellowships; Athletics; Distance Learning; Driver Education Programming. She provides direct operational support to the following schools: Balcarres; Bert Fox; Cupar; Fort Qu'Appelle Elementary; Lipton; North Valley Elementary; North Valley High; Robert Southey.
	Learning Superintendent - Patty Brady Patty is responsible for School Staffing; Learning Improvement Planning; Student Attendance; Student Advisories; Libraries; French Immersion Programming; Fine Arts Programming; International Students; Summer Literacy Camps; External Research Request Review; EAL Programming; Student Outreach Liaison (Attendance). She provides direct operational support to the following schools: Broadview; Clive Draycott; Ecole Lumsden Elementary; Emerald Ridge Elementary; Kelliher; Lumsden High; Milestone; Pense; South Shore; Stewart Nicks; Whitewood.
	Learning Superintendent - Lorrie Anne Harkness Lorrie Anne is responsible for School Staffing; Learning Improvement Planning; Student Attendance; Student Advisories; Student Services; Emergency Responses; Mental Health Programming; Health and Interagency Initiatives; Intensive Needs Programming; Suspensions and Interventions. She provides direct operational support to the following schools: Arm River Colony; Balgonie Elementary; Ecole White City; Edenwold; Greenall High; Lajord Colony; McLean; Pilot Butte; Sedley; Vibank Regional.
	Learning Superintendent - Derek Smith Derek is responsible for School Staffing; Learning Improvement Planning; Student Attendance; Student Advisories; Early Learning; Curriculum Renewal; Nutritional Programming; PAA Programming Support; RDIEC Representation; Career Counselling Support, incl. SAT/ACT Testing; School Community Councils; Locally Developed Curriculum; First and Second Year Administrator Development; Aspiring Leaders; Out of Attendance Area Requests. He provides direct operational support to the following schools: Dr. Isman Elementary; Grenfell Elementary; Grenfell High; Indian Head Elementary; Indian Head High; James Hamblin; Kennedy Langbank; Kipling; Montmartre; Wolseley High.
	Assessment and Data Supervisor - Keith Harkness Keith is responsible for Student Outcome and Perceptual Data Synthesis, Reporting and Improvement Planning, School Division Calendar Development, Enrolment and Projections, Student Data Systems, and Student Reporting. Division Services

	Facilities Superintendent - Lyle Stecyk Lyle is responsible for facility planning and management, facility capital projects, risk management, caretaking, and preventive maintenance. He leads a team of professional staff to provide safe, healthy, well-maintained, and efficient schools and other facilities.
	Human Resources Superintendent - Diana Welter Diana is responsible for building strong relationships with employees across the school division and developing strategies that promote safe, healthy, productive, and positive work environments to help deliver the best possible educational services to students. This includes collective agreement negotiation and interpretation, occupational health and safety, and compensation policy.
	Finance Supervisor - Kayla Edgerton Kayla leads a team of staff to provide effective, efficient, and value-added financial management, risk management, asset acquisition and management, records managements, and business process improvement services across the Division. This portfolio includes responsibility for the oversight and execution of key business projections within the Division to advance the Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Deputy Director Operations/CFO, Kayla is a part of the Division's senior management team.
	Information and Technology Supervisor - Ashton Calder Ashton is responsible for providing technology services to serve both education and business needs. This includes strategic planning, implementing and monitoring services, planning, managing and delivering projects, developing enterprise risk and information security management and policies, and operating a Division-wide technology service desk.
	Transportation Supervisor - Cindy Laturnas Cindy is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services. This includes liaising with schools and families and providing bussing and other transportation services, safety programs, staff recruitment, professional development, and capital asset management.
	Communications Specialist - Sean Leslie Sean is responsible for the development of the division's communications strategy while providing support to the Board and senior leadership on media relations and crisis management. He is also responsible for the creation and coordination of all system-wide publications, including the Annual Report, as well as engagement with the Ministry of Education and other school divisions on province-wide education issues.
