Greenall High School will reopen to all students and staff on Wednesday, January 17, following the fire that occurred at the school over the weekend.
On Wednesday, classes will resume as normal in all areas of the school except for the construction and carpentry lab and the welding lab.
Professional restoration crews have cleaned and removed all traces of soot and smoke to ensure the school is safe for students and staff.
The construction and carpentry lab, where the fire originated, has sustained structural damage. It will remain closed. The welding lab, which sustained smoke and water damage, will also remain closed. The reopening date for those spaces is not known. Staff have developed plans to minimize the impact on learning for students who are taking courses in these subject areas.
Prairie Valley thanks Greenall families, students, staff and members of our school community for their understanding as we work to reestablish full operational and programming capacity at the school.
