Prairie Valley Student Selected to Provincial Youth Council

A Grade 11 student from Greenall High School has been selected to the 2023-2024 Provincial Youth Council by the Ministry of Education.

Freddie Comfort will be one of 12 students in Grades 10 to 12 from across the province that comprise the Youth Council. The group provides insight to the Ministry of Education from the student perspective that helps to inform decisions about the provincial education system.

Comfort is looking forward to gaining valuable experience and contributing his ideas, particularly when it comes to fostering including. "I think it's important that everybody has opportunity, and everyone has chances to contribute," he said.

Extracurricular activities will also be a focus for him. "Extracurricular activities provide experiences for people to get involved in or find things that they're interested in and improve the ability to communicate and build relationships," he said.

Comfort attended school École White City before Greenall.

This is the fifth consecutive year a Prairie Valley student has been selected to the Youth Council and the second time a student from Greenall High School has been selected.
